Sometimes, it's hard to tell whether a webtoon or creator is on hiatus, or if they're just retired all together! You can read this article in order to tell signs if a work is on hiatus or not, as well as producers.

Webtoons on hiatus Edit

With a hiatus on a webtoon, it's much easier to tell. Most of the time, they have something like this:

But what if something you THINK is on hiatus doesn't have that tag? Well, there's one way to check. Check the last update episode, it may have something like this:

If a webtoon hasn't been updated for more than 2 months and is not a completed series, it will automatically be sorted as on hiatus.

If a webtoon hasn't been updated for more than 6 months, not already on a confirmed hiatus, and is not a completed series, it will be automatically be sorted as abandoned/retired.

If a webtoon series is completed, it will be sorted as a retired series.

Otherwise, a webtoon will be considered active.

Creators on Hiatus/Retirement Edit

Telling if a creator is on hiatus is a bit harder. If all of their works have the hiatus tag as shown with the example with bluechair, they will be considered on hiatus. If one of their works are on hiatus, but not the other, that means that that creator is most likely not on hiatus.

If a creator has not updated any of their webtoons for more than 2 months and the series in question are not completed, they will automatically be sorted as on hiatus.

If a creator has not updated any of their webtoons for more than 6 months, not already on a confirmed hiatus, and the series in question are not completed, they will be automatically sorted as retired.

If a creator has said "I'm taking a break"/"I'm retiring" (like Quimchee ) then those would change the state of the page as well.

Overall Edit
